Your unique pattern for making magic happen (Silly Season series: 3 of 3)

Next year is approaching, and honestly, I don’t quite know what 2026 is for yet.

2024 was six months overseas.

2025 was buying our dream home at the beach.

And 2026? It might be expansion. It might be consolidation. Or somewhere in between. I’m sitting with that.

If you’re also holding questions about your direction, focus, and energy, you’re in good company. We don’t always know the next move, but we can look back at what has worked for us before, the moments we followed something true, made a decision, and life shifted.

That’s what this fourth article in my 'approaching the end of the year' series is about: noticing how you create good things so that you have a robust tool in your planning toolkit... your clear personal process for making fabulous things happen in your life.

Recently, I mapped out the steps that led Adam Kennedy and me to buying our dream home. I looked closely at the key moments that got us there (image below). And it surprised me what I learned about our decision making process.

Here’s what I found:

• We named what we wanted

• We visioned it clearly

• We acted even when we weren’t “ready”

• We stayed in the discomfort and doubt

• We kept moving anyway

Nothing neat. Nothing perfectly strategic. Lots of alignment and momentum.

You might try this too, to better understand your own decision making process:

1. Choose one moment in your life that turned out beautifully

2. Trace it back to the very beginning, the first spark

3. Write the steps, small and large, that followed

4. Notice what repeats, this is your pattern of creation

What stands out?

Repeat this with a few decisions, and watch your patterns emerge. You’ve built things you’re proud of. Your process is there, and there is power in unearthing it.
